Western Australia Probate Costs

Western Australia Probate Costs

In Western Australia there are 2 costs associated with obtaining a grant of Probate.

Unlike most other states and territories, in Western Australia there is no requirement to run a Notice of Intention advertisement stating that you, as the executor of the deceased's will, will be lodging an application for Probate in Western Australia.

This means that the first cost  in Western Australia is the Probate application filing fee, which is payable to the Supreme Court of Western Australia via bank cheque at the time we lodge your Probate application.

The second cost is the fee you pay the company or individual who prepares the paperwork that is submitted to the Court.

Cost 1: The Probate Filing Fee

This is the charge imposed by the Supreme Court of Western Australia in order to lodge an application for Probate in WA.  In Western Australia the Probate Application Filing Fee is a flat fee of $370, regardless of the value of the estate. This makes Western Australia the lowest cost state or territory in Australia when it comes to obtaining a grant of Probate.

Cost 2: The Fee charged by the company who prepares your Probate application

Solicitors and Law Firms will generally charge you anywhere between $2,000 and $15,000 to prepare the paperwork for your application.  The majority of them base their fees on the value of the assets held by the deceased.  At Making Probate Easy our fee is $800, regardless of the value of the estate.  And we guarantee your application will be approved by the Court and subsequently you'll receive your grant of Probate.
